First and foremost, let us say—Discipleship Bands are alive and well. We're hearing more and more stories of transformation as people read together, pray together, and meet together to become the love of God for one another and the world.
One of our biggest learnings over the last seven years has been that these connections don't need help from an app like this one. Bands check in by text and meet in person or over video for conversation and prayer. Most people read the Wake-Up Call from their inboxes or online—or they choose another meaningful devotional or book to explore together.
More than anything, the ease with which bands are able to connect without a facilitation tool like this is encouraging and reassuring. We've never been more happy to not need a resource.
While the Discipleship Bands app has already been removed from app stores, on June 30, 2024, we will be discontinuing the Discipleship Bands app functionality entirely.
The great news is that there are many other ways to connect with the Wake-Up Call readings each day! To read and/or listen to Wake-Up Call, try one of these options:
- Visit https://seedbed.com/wake-up-call-archive/ on your phone or tablet and save that page to your home screen as a quick-link icon. Each day when you open it, the newest post will be on top and you'll be able to read the text while listening to the audio simultaneously.
- Enter your email address at seedbed.com/wakeupcall and receive the Wake-up Call each morning in your inbox.
- Subscribe to the Wake-up Call Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-wake-up-call/id1040184070
You certainly don't need our advice on the best way to connect with your bandmates outside of the app. Anything from text, to email, to WhatsApp will do the trick. And if you're not meeting in person, by phone, or via video, that's the best part—so be sure to add a weekly meeting into the rotation.
